"And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Matthew 28:18–20, ESV

At Lighthouse, we take seriously Jesus' command to share the truth of the Bible with the people around us. Jesus' death and resurrection is the only way for people to enter into the Kingdom of God. Part of our identity as a church is evangelism, the intentional effort to explain and demonstrate the good news of the Gospel and the joy of a life committed to Christ.

How We Approach Evangelism

We take a relational approach to evangelism. If you have an image in your head of a guy shouting about fire and brimstone into a megaphone, you can erase it right now; that isn't us. Instead, we're sharing from the real joy we have as Christians and offering it to the people around us because following Christ is the most important decision they can make.

Here are a few ways our church has engaged in evangelism in the Quincy area:

  • Prayer walks in our neighborhood, in which a few people walk around the neighborhood and pray for the people who live here. When we have the opportunity, we'll offer to talk with people who are open to it and pray for whatever is on their heart.

  • Handing out Halloween candy at the T station.

  • Hosting free events in the park, where families can come have food and drinks while playing and hanging out.

If you'd like to get involved in evangelism or partner in our efforts to reach the people in our area with the Gospel, email Pastor Mike.
